DVP031 Exodus 18:10 (January 31)

Jethro said, "Blessed be the LORD, who has delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of Pharaoh and has delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.

Free, fed, and cared for by God in the desert, Moses' father in law joins the newly liberated people of Israel. Jethro is a wise man, not only providing good advice to Moses at times, but he correctly identifies the source of Israel's good fortune and blessing.

Knowing that it was God who had freed them and cared for them, Jethro gives glory where it is due.

All of our actions should stem from our desire to see the greatness of God known in the world. While we might not have signs and wonders of the same magnitude as Moses in our lives, we should still speak with gratitude about the things God has done for us. This testimony is enhanced when we suffer but come through trusting God.
